I heard Umar bin Khattab say from the pulpit of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, "To proceed, people, the prohibition of intoxicants was revealed, and they come from five things, grapes, dates, honey, wheat, and barley. An intoxicant is whatever clouds the mind.There are three matters, people, about which I wish the Messenger of Allah ﷺ had given us a clear directive that we could rely upon, the share of the grandfather, kalalah, and certain forms of usury."
و حدثنا أبو كريب أخبرنا ابن إدريس حدثنا أبو حيان عن الشعبي
سمعت عمر بن الخطاب على منبر رسول الله ﷺ يقول أما بعد أيها الناس فإنه نزل تحريم الخمر وهي من خمسة من العنب والتمر والعسل والحنطة والشعير والخمر ما خامر العقل وثلاث أيها الناس وددت أن رسول الله ﷺ كان عهد إلينا فيهن عهدا ننتهي إليه الجد والكلالة وأبواب من أبواب الربا
