I asked Ibn Abbas about Surah Tawbah.He said, "Tawbah? No, it is the one that exposes. It kept coming down, 'and among them,' 'and among them,' until they feared that not one of them would be left unmentioned in it."I said, "And Surah Anfal?"He said, "That is the surah of Badr."I said, "And Hashr?"He said, "That was revealed concerning the Banu Nadir."
حدثني عبد الله بن مطيع حدثنا هشيم عن أبي بشر
قلت لابن عباس سورة التوبة قال آلتوبة قال بل هي الفاضحة ما زالت تنزل ومنهم ومنهم حتى ظنوا أن لا يبقى منا أحد إلا ذكر فيها قال قلت سورة الأنفال قال تلك سورة بدر قال قلت فالحشر قال نزلت في بني النضير
