Abu Bakra reported,

A man was mentioned in the presence of the Prophet ﷺ, and a man said, "Messenger of Allah, there is no man after the Messenger of Allah ﷺ better than him in such and such."The Prophet ﷺ said, "Woe to you, you have cut the neck of your companion," saying it several times. Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "If one of you must praise his brother, let him say, I reckon so and so to be such, if he does believe him to be so. And I do not declare anyone pure before Allah."This is the report of Yazid bin Zuray. In the report of the other two there is no mention of a man saying, there is no man after the Messenger of Allah ﷺ better than him.
