The Messenger of Allah ﷺ, along with Abu Bakr and Umar, met him on one of the streets of Medina.The Messenger of Allah ﷺ asked him, "Do you bear witness that I am the Messenger of Allah?"He replied, "Do you bear witness that I am a messenger of Allah?"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "I believe in Allah, His angels, and His books. What do you see?"He answered, "I see a throne upon the water."The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "You see the throne of Iblis upon the sea. What else do you see?"He replied, "I see two truthful ones and a liar," or, "two liars and a truthful one."The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "He has been confused. Leave him."
حدثنا محمد بن المثنى حدثنا سالم بن نوح عن الجريري عن أبي نضرة
لقيه رسول الله ﷺ وأبو بكر وعمر في بعض طرق المدينة فقال له رسول الله ﷺ أتشهد أني رسول الله فقال هو أتشهد أني رسول الله فقال رسول الله ﷺ آمنت بالله وملائكته وكتبه ما ترى قال أرى عرشا على الماء فقال رسول الله ﷺ ترى عرش إبليس على البحر وما ترى قال أرى صادقين وكاذبا أو كاذبين وصادقا فقال رسول الله ﷺ لبس عليه دعوه
