I came to Jaraah one day and saw a man sitting there. I said, "Blood will surely be shed here today."The man said, "Not at all, by Allah."I said, "Yes indeed, by Allah."He said, "Not at all, by Allah."I said, "Yes indeed, by Allah."He said, "Not at all, by Allah. This is a hadith from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ which he himself narrated to me."I said, "What a poor companion you have been to me today. You hear me contradicting you, yet you had heard this from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and did not stop me."Then I said to myself, "Why this anger?" So I turned to him and began to ask him questions, and it turned out the man was Hudhayfah.
