A man from the tribe of Banu Mujash reported that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ stood up among us one day to deliver a sermon and said, "Indeed, Allah has commanded me..." and he related the hadith similar to the hadith of Hisham from Qatada, but he added in it, "Allah has revealed to me that you should be humble, so that none of you should boast over another, and none of you should wrong another."He also said in his version, "They will be among you as followers, seeking neither family nor wealth."I asked, "Will that really happen, Abu Abdullah?"He replied, "Yes, by Allah. I witnessed such people during the days of ignorance. A man would tend the flocks of the tribe, owning nothing himself except their slave-girl, whom he would lie with."
و حدثني أبو عمار حسين بن حريث حدثنا الفضل بن موسى عن الحسين عن مطر حدثني قتادة عن مطرف بن عبد الله بن الشخير
أخي بني مجاشع قال قام فينا رسول الله ﷺ ذات يوم خطيبا فقال إن الله أمرني وساق الحديث بمثل حديث هشام عن قتادة وزاد فيه وإن الله أوحى إلي أن تواضعوا حتى لا يفخر أحد على أحد ولا يبغ أحد على أحد وقال في حديثه وهم فيكم تبعا لا يبغون أهلا ولا مالا فقلت فيكون ذلك يا أبا عبد الله قال نعم والله لقد أدركتهم في الجاهلية وإن الرجل ليرعى على الحي ما به إلا وليدتهم يطؤها
