When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ performed the major ritual bath after sexual impurity, he would begin by washing his hands before dipping them into the vessel, then he would perform ablution as he did for prayer.
و حدثناه عمرو الناقد حدثنا معاوية بن عمرو حدثنا زائدة عن هشام قال أخبرني عروة
أن رسول الله ﷺ كان إذا اغتسل من الجنابة بدأ فغسل يديه قبل أن يدخل يده في الإناء ثم توضأ مثل وضوئه للصلاة
