Shaqiq said, "We were sitting at Abdullah's door waiting for him when Yazid bin Muawiya Nakhai passed by us. We said to him, 'Let him know we are here.' He went in to see him, and it was not long before Abdullah came out to us and said, 'I have been told that you are here. Nothing kept me from coming out to you except my dislike of wearying you. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to give us instruction sparingly, spacing it out over the days, for fear of making us weary.'"In Minjab's version, from Ibn Mushir, Amash said, "Amr bin Mura also narrated to me, from Shaqiq, from Abdullah, the same report."
