The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The believer is like a standing crop that the wind keeps bending, and the believer is likewise never free of affliction. The hypocrite is like the cedar tree, which does not sway until it is cut down."In Abdul-Razzaq's version, in place of "bending it," the wording is "swaying it."
