With this same chain of transmission, it is reported that a Jewish rabbi came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, the report being like that of Fudayl, except that he did not mention "then He shakes them." He said, "I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ laugh until his back teeth showed, in wonder at what the man had said and in confirmation of it. Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'They have not appraised Allah as He truly deserves to be appraised' [Zumar 39:67]," and he recited the verse.
حدثنا عثمان بن أبي شيبة وإسحق بن إبراهيم كلاهما عن جرير
بهذا الإسناد قال جاء حبر من اليهود إلى رسول الله ﷺ بمثل حديث فضيل ولم يذكر ثم يهزهن وقال فلقد رأيت رسول الله ﷺ ضحك حتى بدت نواجذه تعجبا لما قال تصديقا له ثم قال رسول الله ﷺ {وما قدروا الله حق قدره} وتلا الآية
