Ali bin Abu Talib said, "We sent Miqdad bin Aswad to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ to ask him about the prostatic fluid that comes out of a person and what should be done about it."The Messenger of Allah ﷺ replied, "Perform ablution and sprinkle water on your private parts."
و حدثني هارون بن سعيد الأيلي وأحمد بن عيسى قالا حدثنا ابن وهب أخبرني مخرمة بن بكير عن أبيه عن سليمان بن يسار
قال علي بن أبي طالب أرسلنا المقداد بن الأسود إلى رسول الله ﷺ فسأله عن المذي يخرج من الإنسان كيف يفعل به فقال رسول الله ﷺ توضأ وانضح فرجك
Muslim also related the hadith of Ibn Wahb, from Makhrama, from his father, from Sulayman bin Yasar, from Ibn Abbas, who said, Ali said, "I sent Miqdad regarding the matter of madhi."Hammad bin Khalid said, "I asked Makhrama, 'Did you hear anything from your father?'" He said, "No."Layth, however, differed from him, narrating from Bukayr from Sulayman without mentioning Ibn Abbas, and Malik followed him in this, also narrating from Abu Nadr.
I say, it has already been established that Makhrama did not hear anything from his father. As for what Nawawi mentioned, that Malik asked Makhrama whether he had heard from his father, and he swore by Allah that he had indeed heard him, this comes through the route of Ismail bin Abu Uways, and he has been criticized to the point that some scholars declared him a liar, as mentioned in Tahdhib al-Tahdhib and Mizan. So the narration of those who reported that he did not hear from his father is the stronger view. And Allah knows best.
