The Messenger of Allah ﷺ recited, "He is the One who has revealed to you the Book. Out of it there are verses that are definite in meaning, which are the principal verses of the Book, and others are ambiguous. Now those who have crookedness in their hearts go after the ambiguous ones, seeking discord and searching for their interpretation, while no one knows their interpretation except Allah, and those well-grounded in knowledge say, 'We believe therein, all is from our Lord.' Only the men of understanding observe the advice." [Al-Imran 3:7]She said that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ then said, "When you see those who pursue the ambiguous parts of it, those are the ones whom Allah has named, so beware of them."

تلا رسول الله ﷺ {هو الذي أنزل عليك الكتاب منه آيات محكمات هن أم الكتاب وأخر متشابهات فأما الذين في قلوبهم زيغ فيتبعون ما تشابه منه ابتغاء الفتنة وابتغاء تأويله وما يعلم تأويله إلا الله والراسخون في العلم يقولون آمنا به كل من عند ربنا وما يذكر إلا أولو الألباب} قالت قال رسول الله ﷺ إذا رأيتم الذين يتبعون ما تشابه منه فأولئك الذين سمى الله فاحذروهم
