Hisham bin Hakeem bin Hizam passed by some Nabateans in Syria who had been made to stand in the sun. He asked, "What is their situation?"The people replied, "They are being detained over the jizyah."Hisham said, "I bear witness that I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, 'Allah will torment those who torment people in this world.'"
