The Prophet ﷺ said, "O Allah, I make with You a covenant that You will never break with me. I am only a human being, so whichever of the believers I have harmed, insulted, cursed, or flogged, make it for him a prayer, a purification, and a means of drawing near by which he comes close to You on the Day of Resurrection."He said "or flogged him." Abu Zinad remarked that this was Abu Hurairah's manner of speech, whereas the correct form is "I flogged him."
