The people of Kufa came as a delegation to Umar, and among them was a man who used to mock Uways. Umar asked, "Is there anyone here from the Qaranis?"That man came forward, and Umar said, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'A man will come to you from Yemen named Uways. He will leave behind in Yemen no one but his mother. He had a patch of white skin, and he prayed to Allah, who removed it from him except for a spot the size of a Dinar or a Dirham. Whoever among you meets him, let him ask him to seek forgiveness for you.'"
حدثني زهير بن حرب حدثنا هاشم بن القاسم حدثنا سليمان بن المغيرة حدثني سعيد الجريري عن أبي نضرة
أن أهل الكوفة وفدوا إلى عمر وفيهم رجل ممن كان يسخر بأويس فقال عمر هل هاهنا أحد من القرنيين فجاء ذلك الرجل فقال عمر إن رسول الله ﷺ قد قال إن رجلا يأتيكم من اليمن يقال له أويس لا يدع باليمن غير أم له قد كان به بياض فدعا الله فأذهبه عنه إلا موضع الدينار أو الدرهم فمن لقيه منكم فليستغفر لكم
