I came to Ayesha to ask her about wiping over leather socks. She said, "You should go to Ibn Abu Talib and ask him, for he used to travel with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ."So we asked him, and he said, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ set three days and their nights for the traveler, and one day and night for the resident."The narrator said, Whenever Sufyan mentioned Amr, he would speak well of him.

أتيت عائشة أسألها عن المسح على الخفين فقالت عليك بابن أبي طالب فسله فإنه كان يسافر مع رسول الله ﷺ فسألناه فقال جعل رسول الله ﷺ ثلاثة أيام ولياليهن للمسافر ويوما وليلة للمقيم قال وكان سفيان إذا ذكر عمرا أثنى عليه
