We were sitting with Abdullah bin Amr when we mentioned a hadith reported from Abdullah bin Masud.Abdullah bin Amr said, "That is a man I have never ceased to love ever since I heard something from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ which he used to say. I heard him say, 'Learn the Quran from four men, from Ibn Umm Abd,' and he began with him, 'from Ubayy bin Kaab, from Salim the freed slave of Abu Huzaifa, and from Muaz bin Jabal.'"There is a phrase that Zuhayr did not mention, namely the words "which he used to say."Jareer and Waki, in the narration of Abu Bakr from Abu Muawiya, placed Muaz before Ubayy, while in the narration of Abu Kurayb, Ubayy comes before Muaz.
