I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, "While I was sleeping, I saw myself standing at a well that had a bucket on it. I drew from it as much as Allah willed. Then Ibn Abu Quhafa took it and drew one or two buckets, and there was some weakness in his drawing, may Allah forgive him. Then it turned into a large bucket, and Ibn Khattab took hold of it. I have never seen an extraordinary man among the people draw water with the strength of Umar bin Khattab, until the people had their camels watered and rested at their resting place."
حدثنا حرملة بن يحيى أخبرنا ابن وهب أخبرني يونس عن ابن شهاب أن سعيد بن المسيب أخبره أنه سمع
ا سمعت رسول الله ﷺ يقول بينا أنا نائم رأيتني على قليب عليها دلو فنزعت منها ما شاء الله ثم أخذها ابن أبي قحافة فنزع بها ذنوبا أو ذنوبين وفي نزعه والله يغفر له ضعف ثم استحالت غربا فأخذها ابن الخطاب فلم أر عبقريا من الناس ينزع نزع عمر بن الخطاب حتى ضرب الناس بعطن
