Thawban reported,

From the Prophet ﷺ, the hadith of the Hawd. I said to Yahya bin Hammad, "Is this a hadith you heard from Abu Awana?"He replied, "I also heard it from Shuba."I said, "Look it up for me."So he looked it up for me and narrated it to me.

و حدثنا محمد بن بشار حدثنا يحيى بن حماد حدثنا شعبة عن قتادة عن سالم بن أبي الجعد عن معدان

عن النبي ﷺ حديث الحوض فقلت ليحيى بن حماد هذا حديث سمعته من أبي عوانة فقال وسمعته أيضا من شعبة فقلت انظر لي فيه فنظر لي فيه فحدثني به
