The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "My example and the example of my nation is like that of a man who kindled a fire, and the moths and insects began falling into it. I am holding you back by your waistbands, while you keep plunging into it."
و حدثنا قتيبة بن سعيد حدثنا المغيرة بن عبد الرحمن القرشي عن أبي الزناد عن الأعرج
قال رسول الله ﷺ إنما مثلي ومثل أمتي كمثل رجل استوقد نارا فجعلت الدواب والفراش يقعن فيه فأنا آخذ بحجزكم وأنتم تقحمون فيه
