The Prophet ﷺ was at az-Zawra when a vessel of water was brought to him, containing water that would not cover his fingers, or only just enough to conceal them. He then mentioned something similar to the hadith of Hisham.
و حدثنا محمد بن المثنى حدثنا محمد بن جعفر حدثنا سعيد عن قتادة
أن النبي ﷺ كان بالزوراء فأتي بإناء ماء لا يغمر أصابعه أو قدر ما يواري أصابعه ثم ذكر نحو حديث هشام
