The Prophet ﷺ said, "When the time draws near, the dreams of a Muslim will hardly ever prove false, and the most truthful of you in dreams are the most truthful in speech. The dream of a Muslim is one of forty-five parts of prophethood. Dreams are of three kinds. A good dream is glad tidings from Allah, a dream that causes grief is from Satan, and a dream comes from what a person tells himself. So if any of you sees something he dislikes, let him get up and pray, and let him not tell people about it."He said, "I like to see fetters in a dream and dislike to see a chain around the neck. Fetters indicate steadfastness in religion."I do not know whether this last statement is part of the hadith or whether it was said by Ibn Sirin.

عن النبي ﷺ قال إذا اقترب الزمان لم تكد رؤيا المسلم تكذب وأصدقكم رؤيا أصدقكم حديثا ورؤيا المسلم جزء من خمس وأربعين جزءا من النبوة والرؤيا ثلاثة فرؤيا الصالحة بشرى من الله ورؤيا تحزين من الشيطان ورؤيا مما يحدث المرء نفسه فإن رأى أحدكم ما يكره فليقم فليصل ولا يحدث بها الناس قال وأحب القيد وأكره الغل والقيد ثبات في الدين فلا أدري هو في الحديث أم قاله ابن سيرين
