We visited Abu Saeed Khudri, and while we were sitting, we heard movement beneath his bed. We looked, and there was a snake. He then narrated the story along the lines of Malik's hadith from Sayfi, including in it that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "These houses have inhabitants, so when you see one of them, warn it three times. If it leaves, fine. Otherwise, kill it, for it is an unbeliever."And he said to them, "Go and bury your companion."
و حدثني محمد بن رافع حدثنا وهب بن جرير بن حازم حدثنا أبي قال سمعت أسماء بن عبيد يحدث عن رجل يقال له السائب وهو عندنا
دخلنا على أبي سعيد الخدري فبينما نحن جلوس إذ سمعنا تحت سريره حركة فنظرنا فإذا حية وساق الحديث بقصته نحو حديث مالك عن صيفي وقال فيه فقال رسول الله ﷺ إن لهذه البيوت عوامر فإذا رأيتم شيئا منها فحرجوا عليها ثلاثا فإن ذهب وإلا فاقتلوه فإنه كافر وقال لهم اذهبوا فادفنوا صاحبكم
