The Messenger of Allah ﷺ came to the graveyard and said, "Peace be upon you, dwelling of a believing people. We will, Allah willing, join you. How I wish we could see our brothers."They asked, "Are we not your brothers, Messenger of Allah?"He replied, "You are my companions. Our brothers are those who have not yet come."They asked, "How will you recognize those of your nation who have not yet come, Messenger of Allah?"He said, "Tell me, if a man had horses with white blazes on their foreheads and white markings on their legs among a herd of pure black horses, would he not recognize his own?"They answered, "Of course, Messenger of Allah."He said, "They will come with bright faces and shining limbs from the traces of ablution, and I will be at the Basin awaiting them. But beware, Some men will be driven away from my Basin as a stray camel is driven off. I will call out to them, 'Come here!' but it will be said, 'They changed things after you.' So I will say, 'Away with them, away with them.'"
حدثنا يحيى بن أيوب وسريج بن يونس وقتيبة بن سعيد وعلي بن حجر جميعا عن إسمعيل بن جعفر قال ابن أيوب حدثنا إسمعيل أخبرني العلاء عن أبيه
أن رسول الله ﷺ أتى المقبرة فقال السلام عليكم دار قوم مؤمنين وإنا إن شاء الله بكم لاحقون وددت أنا قد رأينا إخواننا قالوا أولسنا إخوانك يا رسول الله قال أنتم أصحابي وإخواننا الذين لم يأتوا بعد فقالوا كيف تعرف من لم يأت بعد من أمتك يا رسول الله فقال أرأيت لو أن رجلا له خيل غر محجلة بين ظهري خيل دهم بهم ألا يعرف خيله قالوا بلى يا رسول الله قال فإنهم يأتون غرا محجلين من الوضوء وأنا فرطهم على الحوض ألا ليذادن رجال عن حوضي كما يذاد البعير الضال أناديهم ألا هلم فيقال إنهم قد بدلوا بعدك فأقول سحقا سحقا
