Sufyan reported,

I heard a man ask Jabir about the saying of Allah , "I shall not leave this land until my father permits me or Allah decides for me, and He is the best of judges" [Yusuf 12:80]. Jabir said, "The interpretation of this verse has not yet come to pass."Sufyan said, "He lied."We asked Sufyan, "What did he mean by that?"Sufyan replied, "The Rafidah claim that Ali is in the clouds, so we will not go out with any of his descendants who rises up until a caller calls out from the sky," meaning Ali, who would call out, "Go out with so-and-so."Jabir says, "This is the interpretation of this verse." But he lied. The verse was about the brothers of Yusuf ﷺ.

وحدثني سلمة بن شبيب، حدثنا الحميدي، حدثنا

سفيان، قال

سمعت رجلا، سأل جابرا عن قوله عز وجل {فلن أبرح الأرض حتى يأذن لي أبي أو يحكم الله لي وهو خير الحاكمين} فقال جابر لم يجئ تأويل هذه. قال سفيان وكذب. فقلنا لسفيان وما أراد بهذا فقال إن الرافضة تقول إن عليا في السحاب فلا نخرج مع من خرج من ولده حتى ينادي مناد من السماء. يريد عليا أنه ينادي اخرجوا مع فلان. يقول جابر فذا تأويل هذه الآية وكذب كانت في إخوة يوسف ﷺ.
