The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to me, "Your permission to enter upon me is that the curtain be raised and that you listen to my private conversation until I forbid you."
حدثنا أبو كامل الجحدري وقتيبة بن سعيد كلاهما عن عبد الواحد واللفظ لقتيبة حدثنا عبد الواحد بن زياد حدثنا الحسن بن عبيد الله حدثنا إبراهيم بن سويد قال سمعت عبد الرحمن بن يزيد قال
ا قال لي رسول الله ﷺ إذنك علي أن يرفع الحجاب وأن تستمع سوادي حتى أنهاك
Muslim narrated the hadith of Hasan bin Ubaydullah, from Ibrahim bin Suwayd, from Abdul-Rahman bin Yazid, from Abdullah, "Your permission to enter is that the curtain be raised and you hear me speaking quietly," through the account of Abdul-Wahid and Ibn Idris, transmitting it from him. He said, Zaidah, Hafs bin Ghiyath, and Jareer corroborated them. Thawri differed from them, narrating it from Hasan bin Ubaydullah, from Ibrahim bin Suwayd, from Abdullah, as a mursal report. The correct ruling is that the word belongs to those who added the extra link, since they are five trustworthy narrators.
