The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Do not greet the Jews or the Christians first with the greeting of peace. When you meet one of them on a road, force him to its narrowest part."In the version narrated by Waki, the wording is, "When you meet the Jews." In the version of Ibn Jafar from Shuba, he said, "Regarding the People of the Book." In the version of Jareer, it is, "When you meet them," and he did not name any particular group of the polytheists.
