Ubayd bin Umayr reported,

Abu Musa asked permission to enter Umar's presence three times, and thinking he had found him busy, he turned back. Umar said, "Did you not hear the voice of Abdullah bin Qays? Let him in."So Abu Musa was called back, and Umar asked him, "What made you do what you did?"He replied, "This is what we were instructed to do."Umar said, "You will bring me proof of this, or else I will deal with you."So he went out and made his way to a gathering of the Ansar. They said, "None will testify for you about this except the youngest among us."Abu Saeed stood up and said, "This is what we were instructed to do."Umar said, "This matter of the Messenger of Allah's ﷺ was hidden from me. Bargaining in the markets kept me from learning it."In the narration of Nadr, the phrase "bargaining in the markets kept me from learning it" was not mentioned.
