Abdullah bin Busr reported,

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ stayed as a guest with my father. We brought him food and a dish of dates mixed with curd, and he ate some of it. Then dates were brought to him, and he would eat them and drop the pits between two of his fingers, joining his forefinger and middle finger together.Shuba said, "That is my impression, and it is in the report, if Allah wills, the dropping of the pits between the two fingers."Then a drink was brought to him, and he drank it and passed it to the man on his right. My father took hold of the reins of his mount and said, "Pray to Allah for us."He said, "Bless for them what You have provided them, forgive them, and have mercy on them."The two of them had no doubt about the dropping of the pits between the two fingers.
