I asked al-Aswad, "Did you ask Umm Muiminin about the vessels in which it is disliked to make nabidh?"He replied, "Yes. I said, 'Umm Muiminin, tell me about what the Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade nabidh to be made in.' She said, 'He forbade us, the people of the household, from making nabidh in the gourd and the pitch-coated vessel.'"I said to him, "Did she not mention the green jar and the earthenware jar?"He replied, "I am only telling you what I heard. Should I tell you what I did not hear?"

قلت للأسود هل سألت أم المؤمنين عما يكره أن ينتبذ فيه قال نعم قلت يا أم المؤمنين أخبريني عما نهى عنه رسول الله ﷺ أن ينتبذ فيه قالت نهانا أهل البيت أن ننتبذ في الدباء والمزفت قال قلت له أما ذكرت الحنتم والجر قال إنما أحدثك بما سمعت أؤحدثك ما لم أسمع
