Abu Ubayd, the freed slave of Ibn Azhar, related that he witnessed the Eid prayer with Umar bin Khattab. He said, "Later I prayed with Ali bin Abu Talib. He led us in prayer before the sermon, then addressed the people and said, 'The Messenger of Allah ﷺ has forbidden you to eat the meat of your sacrifices beyond three nights, so do not eat it.'"
