We said, "Messenger of Allah, we will meet the enemy tomorrow and we have no knives with us. May we slaughter with sharpened reeds?"He mentioned the hadith with its full account, saying, "One of the camels bolted away from us, so we shot it with arrows until we brought it down."
و حدثنا ابن أبي عمر حدثنا سفيان عن إسمعيل بن مسلم عن سعيد بن مسروق عن عباية عن جده رافع ثم حدثنيه عمر بن سعيد بن مسروق عن أبيه
قلنا يا رسول الله إنا لاقو العدو غدا وليس معنا مدى فنذكي بالليط وذكر الحديث بقصته وقال فند علينا بعير منها فرميناه بالنبل حتى وهصناه
