The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The first thing we begin with on this day of ours is that we pray, then we return and sacrifice. Whoever does so has followed our sunnah, and whoever slaughtered before that, it is merely meat he has provided for his family and has nothing to do with the sacrificial rite."Abu Burda bin Niyar had already slaughtered, so he said, "I have a young goat that is better than a mature one."He said, "Sacrifice it, but it will not suffice for anyone after you."
و حدثنا محمد بن المثنى وابن بشار واللفظ لابن المثنى قالا حدثنا محمد بن جعفر حدثنا شعبة عن زبيد الإيامي عن الشعبي
قال رسول الله ﷺ إن أول ما نبدأ به في يومنا هذا نصلي ثم نرجع فننحر فمن فعل ذلك فقد أصاب سنتنا ومن ذبح فإنما هو لحم قدمه لأهله ليس من النسك في شيء وكان أبو بردة بن نيار قد ذبح فقال عندي جذعة خير من مسنة فقال اذبحها ولن تجزي عن أحد بعدك
