Shaybi said to me, "What do you make of Hasan's hadith from the Prophet ﷺ? I sat with Ibn Umar for close to two years, or a year and a half, and I never heard him narrate anything from the Prophet ﷺ except this." He said, "There were some men from among the companions of the Prophet ﷺ, and Saad was among them."Ubaydullah bin Muaz narrated to us, saying, my father narrated to us, saying, Shuba narrated to us, from Tawba Anbari, who heard Shaybi, who heard Ibn Umar say that the Prophet ﷺ was with a group of his companions, Saad among them, when lizard meat was brought to them. One of the Prophet's wives called out, "It is lizard meat!"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Eat, for it is lawful, though it is not food that I care for."
و حدثنا محمد بن المثنى حدثنا محمد بن جعفر حدثنا شعبة عن توبة العنبري قال قال لي الشعبي أرأيت حديث الحسن عن النبي ﷺ وقاعدت ابن عمر قريبا من سنتين أو سنة ونصف فلم أسمعه روى عن النبي ﷺ غير هذا قال كان ناس من أصحاب النبي ﷺ فيهم سعد بمثل حديث معاذ
