He reported that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ dispatched a military expedition of three hundred men and placed Abu Ubayda bin al-Jarrah in command over them. Their provisions ran out, so Abu Ubayda gathered what remained of their food into a single bag and rationed it out to us, until each man's daily share was just one date.
