Adi bin Hatim reported,

I asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ about hunting with a miraad. He said, "Whatever it strikes with its sharp edge, eat it. Whatever it strikes with its broad side is considered killed by a blunt blow, so do not eat it."I also asked him about hunting with a dog. He said, "Whatever it catches for you and does not eat from, eat it, for its catching is its slaughter. But if you find another dog with it and you fear that the other dog caught it along with yours and may have killed it, then do not eat it, because you mentioned the name of Allah only over your own dog and not over the other one."
