We were with the Prophet ﷺ on a military expedition when he said, "There are men back in Madinah who have been with you every mile you traveled and every valley you crossed. It was illness that held them back." In Waki's version the wording is, "they shared with you in the reward."
و حدثنا يحيى بن يحيى أخبرنا أبو معاوية ح و حدثنا أبو بكر بن أبي شيبة وأبو سعيد الأشج قالا حدثنا وكيع ح و حدثنا إسحق بن إبراهيم أخبرنا عيسى بن يونس كلهم عن الأعمش بهذا الإسناد غير أن في حديث وكيع إلا شركوكم في الأجر
