I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, "Were it not that I would cause hardship to the believers, I would never have stayed behind from any expedition," with the same wording as their hadith.And with this chain of transmission, "By the One in whose hand my soul is, I would dearly love to be killed in the path of Allah and then brought back to life," similar to the hadith of Abu Zura from Abu Hurairah.
و حدثنا ابن أبي عمر حدثنا سفيان عن أبي الزناد عن الأعرج
سمعت رسول الله ﷺ يقول لولا أن أشق على المؤمنين ما قعدت خلاف سرية بمثل حديثهم وبهذا الإسناد والذي نفسي بيده لوددت أني أقتل في سبيل الله ثم أحيا بمثل حديث أبي زرعة عن أبي هريرة
