We pledged allegiance to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ to listen and obey in hardship and ease, in what we find pleasing and what we find distasteful, even when others are given preference over us, that we would not contest the authority of those entrusted with it, and that we would speak the truth wherever we were, fearing in Allah's cause the blame of no critic.
