Abu Malih reported,

Ubaydullah bin Ziyad visited Maqil bin Yasar during his illness. Maqil said to him, "I am going to tell you a hadith that I would not have told you were I not at the point of death. I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, 'There is no ruler in charge of the affairs of the Muslims who then fails to strive for them and give them sincere counsel except that he will not enter Paradise with them.'"
