Salama bin Akwa reported,

We went out with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on the campaign of Hunayn. When we faced the enemy, I advanced ahead and climbed up a mountain pass. A man from the enemy met me, so I shot an arrow at him, and he disappeared from my sight, so I did not know what became of him. Then I looked toward the enemy forces, and they had come up over another pass. They clashed with the companions of the Prophet ﷺ, and the companions of the Prophet ﷺ turned back. I retreated in defeat, wearing two cloaks, one wrapped around my waist and the other draped over my shoulders. My waist-wrap came loose, so I gathered the two cloaks together.I passed by the Messenger of Allah ﷺ in my retreat, and he was on his white mule. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The son of al-Akwa has surely seen alarm."When the enemy closed in upon the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, he dismounted from the mule, then took a handful of dust from the ground and faced it toward them, saying, "May the faces be disfigured."Allah did not create a single one of them without filling his eyes with dust from that handful. So they turned and fled, and Allah عز وجل defeated them. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ divided their spoils among the Muslims.
