The Messenger of Allah ﷺ dispatched some of his cavalry toward the land of Najd, and they returned with a man named Thumama bin Uthal al-Hanafi, the chief of the people of Yamamah. He then narrated the hadith in the same manner as the hadith of Layth, except that he said, "If you kill me, you kill a man whose blood will be avenged."
