Masruq reported,

I was reclining with Ayesha when she said, "Abu Ayesha, there are three things, and whoever speaks even one of them has uttered a monstrous lie against Allah."I asked, "What are they?"She said, "Whoever claims that Muhammad ﷺ saw his Lord has uttered a monstrous lie against Allah."I had been reclining, so I sat up and said, "Umm Muiminin, give me a moment and do not rush me. Did Allah عز وجل not say, 'And he certainly saw him on the clear horizon' [Takwir 81:23], and 'And he certainly saw him another time' [Najm 53:13]?"She replied, "I was the first of this community to ask the Messenger of Allah ﷺ about that, and he said, 'That was only Jibreel. I never saw him in the form in which he was created except on those two occasions. I saw him descending from the sky, the immensity of his frame filling the whole space between the sky and the earth.'"Then she said, "Have you not heard that Allah says, 'No vision can grasp Him, but He grasps all vision. He is the Subtle, the All-Aware' [Anam 6:103]? Have you not heard that Allah says, 'It is not granted to any human being that Allah should speak to him except by revelation, or from behind a veil, or by sending a messenger to reveal, by His permission, whatever He wills. Indeed, He is Exalted, Wise' [Shura 42:51]?And whoever claims that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ concealed anything from the Book of Allah has uttered a monstrous lie against Allah, for Allah says, 'Messenger, convey what has been sent down to you from your Lord, for if you do not, you will not have delivered His message' [Maidah 5:67].And whoever claims that he could tell what would happen tomorrow has uttered a monstrous lie against Allah, for Allah says, 'Say, none in the heavens or the earth knows the unseen except Allah' [Naml 27:65]."This is the version of Ibn Ulayya, and he added that she said, "Had Muhammad ﷺ concealed anything of what was revealed to him, he would have concealed this verse, 'And when you said to the one whom Allah had favored and whom you had favored, keep your wife and be mindful of Allah, while you hid within yourself what Allah was to bring to light, and you feared the people, though Allah has more right to be feared' [Ahzab 33:37]."
