Abu Saeed Khudri transmits this from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. In Qutayba's version, Abdullah and Nafi went together, while in Ibn Rumh's version Nafi said, "Abdullah went, and I went with him, along with the man from the Layth tribe," until he came in to see Abu Saeed Khudri.Abdullah said, "This man has told me that you report that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade selling silver for silver except in equal measure, and selling gold for gold except in equal measure."Abu Saeed pointed with his two fingers to his eyes and his ears and said, "My own eyes saw and my own ears heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, 'Do not sell gold for gold, and do not sell silver for silver, except in equal measure. Do not give one portion an advantage over another, and do not sell any of it that is absent for what is present, except hand to hand.'"
حدثنا قتيبة بن سعيد حدثنا ليث ح و حدثنا محمد بن رمح أخبرنا الليث عن نافع أن
إن أبا سعيد الخدري يأثر هذا عن رسول الله ﷺ في رواية قتيبة فذهب عبد الله ونافع معه وفي حديث ابن رمح قال نافع فذهب عبد الله وأنا معه والليثي حتى دخل على أبي سعيد الخدري فقال إن هذا أخبرني أنك تخبر أن رسول الله ﷺ نهى عن بيع الورق بالورق إلا مثلا بمثل وعن بيع الذهب بالذهب إلا مثلا بمثل فأشار أبو سعيد بإصبعيه إلى عينيه وأذنيه فقال أبصرت عيناي وسمعت أذناي رسول الله ﷺ يقول لا تبيعوا الذهب بالذهب ولا تبيعوا الورق بالورق إلا مثلا بمثل ولا تشفوا بعضه على بعض ولا تبيعوا شيئا غائبا منه بناجز إلا يدا بيد
