Abu Qatada was searching for a man who owed him a debt. The man hid from him, but eventually he found him. The man said, "I am in financial hardship."Abu Qatada asked, "By Allah?"He replied, "By Allah."Abu Qatada then said, "I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, 'Whoever wishes that Allah deliver him from the distresses of the Day of Resurrection, let him grant relief to one in hardship or forgive the debt entirely.'"

أن أبا قتادة طلب غريما له فتوارى عنه ثم وجده فقال إني معسر فقال آلله قال آلله قال فإني سمعت رسول الله ﷺ يقول من سره أن ينجيه الله من كرب يوم القيامة فلينفس عن معسر أو يضع عنه
