Kaab was owed a debt by Abdullah bin Abu Hadrad al-Aslami. He met him and held him to it, and they began to argue until their voices grew loud. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ passed by them and called out, "Kaab," and gestured with his hand as if to say, "Take half." So Kaab took half of what was owed to him and forgave the other half.
