The Messenger of Allah ﷺ heard the voices of two disputants at the door, their voices raised. One of them was asking the other to reduce what was owed and to be lenient with him in something, while the other kept saying, "By Allah, I will not do it."The Messenger of Allah ﷺ came out to them and asked, "Where is the one who swore by Allah that he would not do a kindness?"The man said, "It is I, Messenger of Allah, and he can have whichever of those he prefers."
و حدثني غير واحد من أصحابنا قالوا حدثنا إسمعيل بن أبي أويس حدثني أخي عن سليمان وهو ابن بلال عن يحيى بن سعيد عن أبي الرجال محمد بن عبد الرحمن أن أمه عمرة بنت عبد الرحمن قالت سمعت
سمع رسول الله ﷺ صوت خصوم بالباب عالية أصواتهما وإذا أحدهما يستوضع الآخر ويسترفقه في شيء وهو يقول والله لا أفعل فخرج رسول الله ﷺ عليهما فقال أين المتألي على الله لا يفعل المعروف قال أنا يا رسول الله فله أي ذلك أحب
