Zaheer bin Rafi, who was his uncle, said that Zaheer came to him and said, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ has forbidden us from something that used to be convenient for us."He asked, "What is that? Whatever the Messenger of Allah ﷺ has said is the truth."Zaheer replied, "He asked me, 'How do you handle your fields?' I said, 'Messenger of Allah, we rent them out for a share of the produce by the stream or for measured loads of dates or barley.' He said, 'Do not do that. Either cultivate them yourselves, let others cultivate them, or hold on to them.'"

أن ظهير بن رافع وهو عمه قال أتاني ظهير فقال لقد نهى رسول الله ﷺ عن أمر كان بنا رافقا فقلت وما ذاك ما قال رسول الله ﷺ فهو حق قال سألني كيف تصنعون بمحاقلكم فقلت نؤاجرها يا رسول الله على الربيع أو الأوسق من التمر أو الشعير قال فلا تفعلوا ازرعوها أو أزرعوها أو أمسكوها
