I saw a man from Khurasan asking Shaybi. He said, "Abu Amr, the people of Khurasan in our area say regarding a man who frees his slave girl and then marries her, that he is like one who rides his sacrificial camel."Shaybi replied, "Abu Burda bin Abu Musa narrated to me from his father that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'Three are given their reward twice. A man from the People of the Book who believed in his prophet and then lived to see the Prophet ﷺ, so he believed in him, followed him, and affirmed his truth, he has two rewards. A slave who fulfills the right of Allah Almighty and the right of his master, he has two rewards. And a man who had a slave girl whom he nourished and nourished well, then educated her and educated her well, then freed her and married her, he has two rewards.'"Then Shaybi said to the Khurasani, "Take this hadith without anything in return. A man would once travel to Medina for less than this."
حدثنا يحيى بن يحيى أخبرنا هشيم عن صالح بن صالح الهمداني
رأيت رجلا من أهل خراسان سأل الشعبي فقال يا أبا عمرو إن من قبلنا من أهل خراسان يقولون في الرجل إذا أعتق أمته ثم تزوجها فهو كالراكب بدنته فقال الشعبي حدثني أبو بردة بن أبي موسى عن أبيه أن رسول الله ﷺ قال ثلاثة يؤتون أجرهم مرتين رجل من أهل الكتاب آمن بنبيه وأدرك النبي ﷺ فآمن به واتبعه وصدقه فله أجران وعبد مملوك أدى حق الله تعالى وحق سيده فله أجران ورجل كانت له أمة فغذاها فأحسن غذاءها ثم أدبها فأحسن أدبها ثم أعتقها وتزوجها فله أجران ثم قال الشعبي للخراساني خذ هذا الحديث بغير شيء فقد كان الرجل يرحل فيما دون هذا إلى المدينة
