Barirah came to me and said, "Ayesha, I have made a written agreement with my masters to buy my freedom for nine ounces, one ounce each year."The rest is according to the meaning of Layth's hadith, with the addition that he said, "Do not let that prevent you. Buy her and set her free."The hadith also says, Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ stood before the people, praised Allah and extolled Him, then said, "To proceed."
